Building Now - Night Science Chapters in our Community
Dear Colleague,
Adopting the ideas and Thinking Tools of Night Science is like anything - you have to learn the material and then you have to practice it. After all, adults learn best when they apply new knowledge to situations in their life and see the benefit.
Our Workshop teaches you the core ideas of Night Science, and even provides an opportunity to get started with the practice element with some interactive exercises. But long term you need to take the knowledge home and apply it. To help you in that journey we created the Community of Night Science practitioners. Join us today!
A new element of the Community that we are building now is support of local chapters.
It is always great to see when people gather in person to share knowledge and skills related to Night Science and if you are doing this, or are planning to, please reach out so that we can support you on the Night Science Community. You will see a special category for these groups at https://night-science.discourse.group/c/chapters/10 .
First out of the gate is the already long-standing Postdoc Night Science NYC chapter, led by Dr. Kelsey Monson! 🎉 Thanks Kelsey and NYC for breaking new ground on our site, and inspiring others.
As always - the Community is for you - help us develop it as you would like. You can find me as @Oliver on the site - I am always glad to hear from you!
Book Club
Join us on November 19th, 11am EDT, for the third session focusing on Objectivity, observation, irrationality and the allure of beauty – the strategic irrationality of science.
Irrationality at the heart of modern science? What is that all about? Join us to find out.
Everyone is welcome - even if you haven't read the book. Why not forward this information to your students and postdocs?
